Earlier, C Raz was done with his snack and he wanted down from his chair. Usually he is good at saying please, but he just wasn't saying it.
Trying to solicit it from him, I asked "What do you say when you want something?"
He promptly responded "Meemaw!"
(Punchline translator: Meemaw is what he is currently calling his Grammy Kay.)
Ahem mother, the truth comes out! :)

Markers are very popular at our house, as exhibited this morning. They are all kinds of fun. First you can draw with them and be an artist; then you can stick them end to end to "choo choo" them all over the house and be an engineer, and finally you can throw them in a bowl to stir them with a spatula and be a chef.

Finally uploaded a bunch of summer pictures. To come...Mackinac, Zoo, Grampa's Tractor Rides and Ring Bearer Prep!
Here, Colin is enjoying some of Daddy's spoils of being an engineer.
Some of the coolest things he gets are goodies from 3M, like this large sticky note easel.

Je suis un artiste!

J'aime bien manger le stylo. C'est delicieux! (Yeah, I know, it's not really un stylo. But I don't remember marker.)

Another cool thing about the Toddler A room is that they do a lot of art projects with the children. Just this week Colin's Roller Print, Colin's Texture Art and Colin's Truck Track Art (titles per the teacher, not me) were awaiting me in his cubby. Colin's Big and Little Animals is on display in the classroom. As the collection grows, I am sure I can pass some on to decorate the refrigerators of interested grandparents, aunties and friends.
The photos here are what I view as Colin's first art project - and one he created himself, no help from a teacher, nonetheless. I had dumped the end of a box of Joe's O's (Trader Joe's extra apostrophe, not mine) on his highchair tray, and then went to prepare his lunch. Andy discovered his little design first and called me over. I was so proud and felt he had nice use of shapes and repetition.
Note: As you can tell by the hair, this is a few months back. Just trying to catch up on some older pix. Christmas coming soon to a Live Journal near you!
